Stage 3 Development
Stage 3 commenced construction in March 2018, to add an additional 5,634m2 to the existing centre. With commitment from Coles and Liquorland, Stage 3 will also include a gourmet market precinct along with additional specialty retail including fashion, homewares and services. Due to the recent weather event, the opening has been delayed until approximately the third quarter of 2019. A new Grand Opening date will be confirmed in due course.

What is the history of Fairfield Central?
Fairfield Central is a bustling sub-regional shopping centre located in Idalia, just 7km from the Townsville CBD. Since Stage 1 opening in 2008, Stage 2 opened in November 2015, with Kmart offering extended trading hours to 9pm weeknights.
What are the benefits of Stage 3?
The expansion will provide customers with a quality shopping experience and first-class retail and facilities.
Upon completion, the expanded centre will include:

There will be a significant number of local jobs created during the construction phases and following the opening in 2019.
